DIE SPINNE

after the demise of dads with no face in april of 1995, nothing musically happened for several months. finally blaise kolodychuk, terry ramsay and scott johns decided to form a new band, "die spinne", and tried to take a new musical direction. with scott now playing bass and terry taking over most of the vocal duties, they made more hypnotic and mellow songs, a far cry from the insane mayhem noise of dads with no face. the songs were more structured and had more melody, but eventually, after playing live a few times, they fell back into the old punk rock stylings they were so used to. after combining all of the new with the old, they had found the sound of die spinne. the album pies came out in january of 1996 and was a perfect example of this sound wich had never been heard before. the shows definitely were not like the shows in the days of dads, but the accual sound of the band was better,  and the fans responded accordingly. not as crazy, but paying more attention. continuing to make more music die spinne came out with "suicide", a collection of the best live performances they had accomplished to date. this was one of the most exciting tapes ever put together in recorded earth history. by this time die spinne was playing around calgary and they eventually released the album "die spinne visit zombie island" in december of 1997 (and well before any scooby doo movies were even heard of). going closer and closer to the punk side of things then the hypnotics, they haven't recorded since. still playing live shows here and there, the member's of die spinne pursued solo projects during 1998, in 1999, the re-mix album "the art of self love" came out.

horny nymphos was recorded during the summer or 1995, shortly after the break up of dads with no face. trying to get a completely different sound, die spinne used a lot of effects pedals, and tried a more mellow and hypnotic approach to the music. some of the classic die spinne songs such as wolf man and don't feed me cheese were first recorded here. they have mostly been significantly changed and improved over time.

meat master was recorded november of 1995, a twenty five minute long song which is split into 8 different parts. it is the story of how earth is invaded by evil aliens who feast on human flesh, in the end of the story only two men are left on earth, and they are forced to re-populate the planet. (the power of gamma ray exposure makes this all possible). also on the album is some songs from a live show played on halloween night 1995.

suicide was released in the summer of 1997 as a fan compilation sent out by sc music. it ended up being one of the most enjoyable albums die spinne has produced. all great live moments in die spinnes history were compiled on this one, and the result was an aggressive, and amazing display of the talent that die spinne holds. also on the album are three studio tracks "vampire monster killer machine", "cheese covered items" and, "no arms or legs". these are die spinne at their rock n' roll, punk rock best, and hint at to what the next record sounded like.

nearly two years after die spinne visit zombie island, the art of self love came out, in august of 1999. completely mixed and put together by dj fukachuk, this is the slickest and nicest sounding die spinne album. it is what it says it is. "re-mixed and re-done". and has been called "die spinne for the next millennium".

The defining force behind the true meaning of sc music. at the beginning of 1992 blaise kolodychuk was in the band "original deficiency" with andrea gammon, barrett pedersen, and julie kirsch. terry ramsay was in the band "neighbourhood threat", both being fed up with the directions these groups were going the decided to get back together and start "dads with no face". with terry on drums and blaise on guitar they started practicing all the time, coming up with some of the classic songs within the first week, (leather boy, n.u.l., bag, ect.) in a few months the had the first dads party at terry's place, every thing went fantastic and they continued having shows every few weeks, eventually moving to blaise's basement (blasterd bean's center for performing arts). more and more people were coming to the shows and dads shows were more fun than ever, some times having paul whittington come up to sing a couple of his classics.  after a particularly terrible show in november of 1983, the concept for "life sucks" was created, eventually spawning three tapes. this was around the time of "beagle fest one" which was nothing more than a two week drinking binge at their friend, josh beagle's house, dads played extensively and smoked a lot of lettus and cherry skol. things were going well for dads, and in january of 1994 blaise  and terry camehome to find scott johns in their basement, playing blaise's guitar, they didn't know scott, but liked what he was playing so they decided to invite him into the band. with his wild feedback driven leads some of the old dads fans weren't coming around as much as they used to, however scott brought a whole new group of people into the cult of dwnf because of the noise. they continued to practice on the new sound, but the attendance started going down. terry was eventually sick of playing for only a few people and didn't show up for a show in july of 1994. pissed off by this, scott and blaise went out looking for a new drummer. and while playing acoustic guitars on the side of the street, a girl popped her head out of the window of her house and gave them a dollar for their troubles, scott apparently knew her from junior high school and blaise asked her to play drums for them. and not ever playing drums before teri dennis agreed. dads only played one show in this line up before terry ramsay wanted back in. teri dennis stayed as well and terry was on bass. dads was now a four piece and were the loudest thing any one has ever heard. time went on, playing every weekend, and the parties were getting more of a place for the kids to go and get high on the weekend than anything else. terry was sick of the bass and wanted back on drums, and nobody knew what to say to teri dennis about it. so they decided not to say anything. the show on february 18 1995, teri was told that terry was going to play drums because it was his birthday and it was his gift. she agreed and came to the show as a spectator. that was to be the last ever recorded dads show, it was spectacular every body played their best, paul was there to sing and do lights and teri did come up and play drums for a few songs. at the end of the show was the 25 minute long song "ballad of the recently cauterized whale" at the end of which scott smashed his guitar into two pieces and nailed them to the wall. the last dads show was played with out teri dennis and half the audience walked out as a protest, that night dads with no face was officially over.

Way back in 1984, at the age of 8, blaise kolodychuk made a tape of songs and called it "the electric oinks" Among the songs on this tape was cat is psycho, which is still played today by die spinne. Together with his Friend clayton powell they made several more tapes, using what ever instruments they could find or make. By The time 1987 rolled around it was turning into more of a 'real' band, and the members consisted of blaise and Ryan terlaak, by now there was drums, keyboards, and the odd guitar. Eventually ryan and blaise had a falling Out and in 1988 blaise joined forces with terry ramsay and they changed the name to simply eo. This is when all The classic eo songs started to appear, (carbonated mustard, arachnid, suicidal religious dogs from hell ect...) They were still mainly just using the keyboards and drums. In 1990 Blaise and terry got their bass and guitar, and released "wheat farmer's cow", this album was a hit amongst the People of their school, and started off the sound that is carried on today by the current artists on sc music. Eo played songs with many others, including bo coffel, steve yellow old woman, and keith prill. People were Starting to like eo and in 1991 the album 12 was released. Paul whittington sang a couple songs on this one and It was an instant hit. Spawning the classics '12, funny looking, s&m, and hurl', eo played one live show at some Guys birthday party, and terry and blaise went off into other bands. Eo was over.In 1994 eo got back together to play the big eo comeback special at blasterd beans center, and all went well, also the album freelance photographer was released that year, it was an Electro-keyboard album, like they used to make in the 80's, and was a fantastic success. Then on a very strange Night in '97 terry and blaise made some more eo keyboard electro-songs, and the freelance photographer Album was re-released, using these songs as well as most of the songs off the 1994 release. This album is a Classic display of the twisted, perverted meaning behind the thirteen year career of eo. The 1994 release is now Un-available anywhere.

SC ENTERTAINMENT

Is based in Calgary Alberta Canada. However it's members are spread out over the world.

Founded in 1983 by Blaise Kolodychuk and Terry Ramsay as a name for their 'comic company.' By the next year, 1984 sc was also releasing music, and in 1986 the circle was complete and SC Films was born. Throughout the years there have been probably over a hundred different people who have been involved in the creation of different artistic things under the name SC. From artists to musicians.. actors and everyone involved behind the scenes. SC Entertainment is now basically the name behind all of the various creations of Blaise Kolodychuk, as well as his collaborations with others such as Terry Ramsay, Elaine Boyling, Scott Johns, and Paul Whittington.

SC Entertainment is dedicated to the creation of stuff.. and having it easily available to anyone that wants it, with only the hope that you will spread the word. The personal philosophies behind the creations of many of Blaise Kolodychuk's art can be found at the Fukachuk Egg Machine web site.

This web site is meant to be a home base for everything that happens, and is updated continually to reflect what is being thought about, created, or ready for you to see... so please come back often.. and tell your friends that there still is people out there who make things just because they want to.. and because they really have no choice..

Blaise Kolodychuk is an artist, film maker, and musician from Calgary Alberta Canada. He has been involved with making all kinds of things since he was very young, and started his Entertainment company in 1983 with his friend Terence Ramsay. Since then he has spent his life making music, producing and directing numerous low budget films, and painting, drawing and putting things together to make art.

Most of Blaise's paintings take place in the fictional, allegorical world of his music project, fukachuk egg machine, and depict the different people and places within the stories. They mostly tell stories of hope and resistance to being marginalized and destroyed by the world around them. There usually is an element of comedy in the paintings if you spend the time to dig through the bleakness of the people and landscapes.

Blaise has attended the Alberta College of Art and Design, and graduated with honours from the film program at SAIT Polytechnic, majoring in producing and directing. He is an award nominated director and his films have been shown in world class film festivals and publicly in many other locations.

Blaise lives in Calgary Alberta Canada. When he isn't off making movies and music and all that sort of thing, he can be found being a teaching assistant for grades 4-6 at a Montessori school. And Teaching Art classes to children.

And so the year is new, and so am I. And there is people I could thank, and people I could blame, and people who just don't care... and people who care too much. But not tonight.
Needless to say, the most important, and exciting part of, lets say, a court room drama for example, is when the jury comes out and says, guilty, or not guilty. If you take that bit of film and just watched it, it would be perhaps the most boring thing you have ever seen. misleading, and in a way, even cruel. It is everything that has lead up to that moment that makes is so important.... no one should ever think there isn't at very least an hour and a half of things out there that lead to any decision.
And the moon is full and bright...
The last year was a year to remember. And I am glad is has finally come to a close... and don't think I am ungrateful of it all, but there is always two views to the same verdict... even if they are in one head.

DECEMBER 17 2000

The year is coming to a close, so I have decided to write something down for you cats to read here. It is my daughter's birthday in a couple days.. she will be three. But that is not my point. The point is I went to a mall today and fully realized how pathetic and stupid christmas has got. There is no good will toward man, and the spirit of christmas and all that any more.. it is just a commercial thing, to the fullest extent of the meaning. and I for one am totally sad about it. granted, I think the whole original Jesus thang is pretty fucked up and stupid, but it seems to have always been a good reason for people to be nice to each other. And that can't be a bad thing... but that has given way to spoiling kids, and making money... good god, when I saw all the people at the mall today, I almost decided right there not to get my kids anything for christmas. And it would probably be a good plan.. they would grow up thinking Christmas is about all the good things it is supposed to be, rather than the time of year when they get all the stuff they want. Anyway this is going to be a sad, lonely self-pitying christmas for me any way.. Poor little Blaise... this will be the first Christmas I will not have any one to share it with since 1993.. wait no. I had someone then too... it would be 1991. Man, I guess it is about time to be single anyway. I should shut up now.
Oh yeah.. get my records, they are finally done.. but I'm sure you can see that from the appearance of my web site... well... if I don't see you all again soon, happy Christmas... and if you see a skateboarder anywhere, spit on them for me.... just kidding... i think.

SEPTEMBER 14 2000

It looks as though I have been away for sometime... well, as you may know, for the last few months I have been working on another record, I guess in the last month I have transformed myself in to obsessive mode, it seems that all I do is make music these days... re-writing lyrics, re-mixing, adding to, cutting, creating, and then re-doing it all again... I have about 12 tracks that I am pretty pleased with right now, a few tracks that I need to improve, and I will probably totally change my mind about what I'm happy with today, tomorrow... on going would be the word to use. But it's all worth it, and I can assure you that when I finally do finish, it will be perfect. The new stuff I have been doing is basically amazing, and like nothing I have ever done before. I have stopped posting music on MP3.com, cuz i never know what's finished any more, and I wanna see the faces of people when I finally reveal it to them some day in the future... just be warned, i am gonna change your lives...
Most distressing is the fact that I have three days off for my birthday, but it seems i have no plans. we were gonna play a show, but terry said he might have to work, and scott wants to spend the weekend with his girl friend, as it is her birthday as well... so i may just be stuck here by my self... crying in to a bucket of eggs and head lice, while the moon eclipses in to a burning red darkness... well, such is the way of my lonely old maid inspired life.... lets hope i write again soon. ciao.
