November Memories

November has traditionally been a big month for me to film some kind of movie.. I'm not sure why I ever think that the beginning of winter makes sense, but I guess it does. This year I have nothing going on.. But here's a look back on some of the November things from the recent past...

2012 - World of the Uncanny

Imitative Magic - Nearly done shooting!

Liam Gonzalez and Jorgie Krygier-Paine

This has been a very long and awesome summer for making this movie. If you haven't heard anything about it yet, Imitative Magic is a new feature length film starring the ridiculous talents of Jorgie Krygier-Paine and Liam Gonzalez. It follows the adventures of Cadence, all around amazing woman, and member of the Calgary Beefart and Cheenkaw Appreciation Society.
Her two heroes, Beefart and Cheenkaw go missing right in the middle of a strange string of mysterious murders. No one seems to be able to find them, or stop the deaths from happening. That's when Cadence becomes increasingly fed up with people's inability to get up and take a stand for what's right. She takes it upon herself to not only find Beefart and Cheenkaw, but while at it, hopfully put an end to these bizarre killings. the only person who seems to want to help her is her mail man Bert. Who is behind the killings? How is the Ever Love retirement home involved? Will cadence's friends continue to write strange steamy Cheenkaw fan fiction? Will Cadence's brother ever stop complaining about the state of the music scene in Calgary? And why isn't Calgary's premiere superhero, The Mosquito helping out?

All these questions and more will be answered near the end of September when Imitative Magic is released. For now, please enjoy some of these stills from the film and other behind the scenes photos. Click on them to see bigger.

Mosquito Magic

Production has started on our upcoming film 'Imitative Magic!' As you can see, Calgary's greatest superhero, The Mosquito is back, and she's screwing around on the internet. To be fair, our next shooting date isn't for almost another month.. but it's exciting that things have started. You can see the Mosquito's last film by clicking HERE. Imitative Magic is about one of Beefart and Cheenkaw's biggest fans, and the lengths she will go through to help solve the mystery of their disappearance during a rash of murders in Calgary. It's kind of a love story .

Guadalupe Caracara

Less than 2 weeks left to help make all our dreams come true! Tell your rich uncle how amazing and poor we are! Also, take a look at the newest villain in the SC Universe... Guadalupe Caracara!! http://igg.me/at/imitativemagic/

Hello all. The Calgary Comic and Entertainment expo is now over, and it was a pretty unsuccessful year for us.. but whatever.. the good parts were being able to see some of our amazing friends, and some people we hardly ever get to hang out with. You people are amazing. We made a neat-o little film for the Expo's 48 hour film competition thing, that they didn't even show. But you can see it here right now!!
https://youtu.be/p6BDIT98gww

Starring as the sister in that film was the lovely and talented Jorgie Krygier-Paine who will be the star of our upcoming film 'Imitative Magic' that begins shooting this summer. Beefart and Cheenkaw have gone missing, right in the middle of a bizarre string of strange ritual like killings, and the only person who seems to be willing to do anything about it is official card carrying Beefart and Cheenkaw fan club member Cadence, who, along with bicycle riding postal carrier Bert, try to solve the mysteries that are unfolding in Calgary. Basically it's the first ever SC Entertainment love story.

Sounds awesome right? If you want to help out, please think about a small donation!

In other news, a brand new fukachuk egg machine record that I have been working on is going to be released on May 2nd. The record is called Patterns and I just heard the whole thing finished from start to end last night for the first time. It would seem as though I was far more depressed when I wrote this album then I first even thought, but that's okay.. I'm feeling a lot better now and out of it came something that is pretty astounding. Possibly the most gut churning record I have done since Looking for Lizards in 2009. So basically when it comes out, download it and listen to it.. it would mean a lot to me.

Here is the first track from that record.. check it out:
https://youtu.be/FdGNll7B1xU

You can join a facebook event for the album release and get a link for a free download as soon as the record comes out.
https://www.facebook.com/events/1388104734849335/

I will bug you all again soon when the record comes out.. and don't forget to pledge your support for Imitative Magic!

Take care,

Love Blaise

Imitative Magic and Calgary Expo!

Hello! We are going to be shooting a brand new feature length film this summer called 'Imitative Magic' and it is going to be crazy rad. Our local heroes and super crime fighting monster hunters, Detectives Beefart and Cheenkaw have gone missing, right in the middle of a bizarre murder spree! And the Beefart and Cheenkaw appreciation society reacts in various ways. Some think there is nothing they can do, but one girl, Cadence isn't going to let her idols be lost who knows where while people in the city are being murdered! She takes it upon herself to find out what happened. Meanwhile, the postal worker who delivers all her Beefart and Cheenkaw fan girl stuff she buys from the internet ends up as her willing partner. The film is about how these two people become very close friends while solving this bizarre investigation! There is Egyptian Gods! Retirement homes! The Mosquito! Sleazy Fan Fiction! Basically, it will be the greatest supernatural horror comedy heart string puller of all time. And I would love it if you would help us out.
Please check out our indiegogo campaign page and read through it, and watch the video. I think you may be compelled to give us tons of money... and if you can't do it, at least please share the link to the page with people you know.

Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo 2015

2010

2011

We will once again be at this year's comic expo, in case you weren't sure. Me, Elaine and Terence will be at the booth in the main building in Artist's alley.

2013

2012

This will be SC Entertainment's 6th year at the expo, and I hope it will be the most exciting so far. Please come by our table if you get a chance, and if you want to you can pick up some beautiful SC DVDs to complete your collection. New things this year will include the SC Entertainment Holiday Special DVD, as well as my graphic novel THE NANDI BEAR TENANTS!

2014

I will also be promoting the exciting new film that will be shot this summer 'Imitative Magic!' I am hard at work on a new script for this very exciting project. I had everything mostly done and ready to go when I realized I wasn't into it.. so I started again from scratch, and this time it is phenomenal! I will be looking to fill some important leading roles, and I will hopefully start some kind of
crowd funding campaign in which I will beg everyone I know for money... but more about that later. Come down to expo and ask me all these questions! More info on the expo: http://www.calgaryexpo.com/

New fukachuk egg machine song

Please check it out here:

From an upcoming album that is in production now. It's a big deal.

New SC Film in early stages.

Embarrassingly, I haven't shot a proper feature length film since 2012. The good news is that since then I did piles of short films and a wildly popular animated series. But it is time once again for a new SC feature. I am now in the early stages of writing the script for this new movie, and I plan on shooting it this summer.. on weekends... for cheap. The traditional SC style. The film is called (at least for now) Imitative Magic. And isn't really like any film I have ever made. It follows the lives of 6 young people over the course of 5 days. They are all members of an internet message board / chat room for people in Calgary who are obsessed with the two Calgary paranormal investigators Beefart and Cheenkaw. The film isn't about Beefart and Cheenkaw though.. it's about these 6 people. Anyway, I've been working on it for a couple months now and I'm pretty excited about the whole thing. I will probably start up some sort of indiegogo campaign to raise money to help fund it.. but I think I will wait until the Calgary Entertainment Expo before I get that going. I will be looking for a bunch of actors for this one as well.. people who will be available on weekends this summer. I will get into all that later. Anyway, that's what I have been working on.

Rubicon! And Other Things..

A new short SC Entertainment film written and Directed by the ultra cool Sue Kenyon, and filmed and put together by me is now available to enjoy on-line! Step into a dystopian future, where an underground group of freedom fighting hackers are doing what they can to cripple an oppressive government! RUBICON: Starring Jenelle Walsh, David Luecke, Ashley Spinella and a ton of others. With special musical guests Tekhnotron, and twitch.

Watch it here: http://youtu.be/k74LqbrINdw

Also available to watch on it's own, originally included on the SC Entertainment Holiday Special, but a fine short film in it's own right... THE MOSQUITO! The further adventures of 'The Mosquito' take her into the mind of Albert Such, where she learns a terrible secret about a maniac who has been stealing people's memories. Will she be able to solve this mystery, and in turn find out about her own missing past? Starring Paige Morrison, Duffy Cheng, and Lee Hicks.

Check it out here: http://youtu.be/EZtgdDoFf20

In other news, if for some horrible reason you missed the SC Entertainment Holiday Special... go watch it now.. I don't really care of Christmas is over.. it is still freaking awesome... http://youtu.be/90e8qJ9Hkpo

Also, the amazing 47 track Best of Fukachuk Egg Machine is available for download at the super cheap price of $4.00. Not bad for my life's work.

New Fukachuk Egg Machine Website

In hopes that it will help people fall madly, obsessively and dangerously in love with my life's work, I have redesigned the entire fukachuk egg machine website. Spend hours learning about all 30 (so far) albums that I have released over the last 16 years, listen to ALL the music, even download it to play over and over again on your ipod, read almost all the lyrics and see behind the scenes photos, and read about the meanings of the records. As well as all the fukachuk egg machine movies, videos, many live performances, and other unexplainable things I have done over the years.

It is my hope that more people become obsessed with the things I have done over the years.. because if I'm the only one who cares, then it simply means I am psychotic.. but if there is lots of people who care, then I am a genius. You can see the obvious choice.

25 Spooky Movies Until Halloween.

If you are on facebook, SC Entertainment is counting down until Halloween and posting a scary movie from our archives every day until Halloween. Don't forget to check it out every day!

I am posting the films in chronological order, and starting with 1992's epic breakthrough murder fest that we made at the tender ages of about 16 years old... Bo-Bo - The Halloween Massacre, and it will just get better from there.

Previously Unavailable Fukachuk Egg Machine Records

Uploaded to the fukachuk egg machine page and now available for free download are three EPs that were previously unavailable. There is some pretty great music on them that you may want to listen to with your friends.

Return of the Lizard Girl - Digging in the Dirt (March 2009)
This was a special EP made for some sort of club night as a giveaway. It includes a couple special mixes of some songs from the Looking for Lizards album, as well as some outtake songs, and some brand new tracks. I also put a live version of Return of the Lizard Girl on there. A lot of it sounds similar to the style of the Looking for Lizards records, which I consider to probably be some of the best music I ever made.. so check it out.

Filled With Animals (November 2008)
This is eight songs that were made as a reaction to a pretty strange year, it was mostly therapeutic, but out of it came some pretty unique, sad and creepy music. It would lead to me making the Looking for Lizards records.

Telling Some Stories (September 2008)
Five songs that were made for a friend as a gift. Available to the public for the first time. I think enough time has past that these songs allowed to visit other people now. These were made during the recording of the Bear inside a Box album, they are similar to those tracks, but they kind of really have their own thing going on.

Shooting starts soon for SC Holiday Special!

Every weekend until Christmas has been booked with non stop power packed SC filming action for the amazing SC Entertainment Holiday Special! It is going to involve a ton of short films, some musical interludes and other ridiculous surprises.. it may come across as more of a Halloween special with the amount of horror themed films that will be in it.. but it matters not.. that's how SC Entertainment rolls.. and you are gonna love it. Starring SC superstars like Blaise Kolodychuk, Terence Ramsay, Johnny Auchie, Paige Morrison, Rene Gonzalez, Suzie Kenyon, Lee Hicks, and many more! I will be very tired and grumpy by December from lack of any time off whatsoever.. but it will all be worth it when you and your family (16+) have a new holiday tradition.

Terence Ramsay will reprise his role as THE APE DOCTOR in an upcoming short film 'Cidra The Time Traveling Barbarian'

The Electric Oinks Live

For those of you fortunate enough to miss the Electric Oinks playing live the other day.. you can now unfortunately watch the whole show online. Good luck.

The Nandi Bear Tenants

So I spent this summer making this Comic / Graphic Novel. I'm not sure what the difference is. If it is length, then my comic is at least twice as long as a regular comic.. so it is probably a graphic novel.. I have been

calling it a book, because it makes me feel more swanky. Anyway, it was a lot of hard and completely fun and worthwhile work, and in the end I had a indiegogo campaign that funded me getting this thing printed like a beautiful thing.. anyway.. it's ready and done, and printed and available in various ways. (I am probably going to have it in the local comic shops in Calgary, Vancouver and somewhere on the island as well.. I will keep you updated on that.)

The story is pretty exciting, and here is the pitch that I got on the back cover:

Naiad Bear needs to gather all her friends for a mission to save not one but two planets from total destruction! When she inherits an old creepy haunted mansion from her long lost Aunt Nandi, she is given a message from the other side.. a message that the king of the Cat planet has gone totally insane and plans to wage an intergalactic war against Mars. Seriously, what has Mars ever done to him? And why is he being such a freak? Naiad along with her superhero friends Dorriss Doom, Stensor, and Pattee may be the only one who could possibly help to unravel this supernatural mystery! Meanwhile, the renegade

adventurer and hero for hire Veltrax the Wolvcha is busy saving Klor, the last giant amoeba in the universe from certain death! How does it all fit together? And who is behind all this diabolical terror?!

Sounds pretty good right? So good that you wanna read it right??!

Here's how.. you go over to amazon.com and just buy it.. it will come to your house, and then you can read it and love it and basically keep it as a family heirloom:
http://amzn.com/150036570X

Alternately you can get a signed copy directly from me by buying it at the SC Entertainment store:
